4 Things to Consider When Making a Life-Changing Decision
From someone who’ve just quit her job to move abroad.
I did it.
I quit my job.
I’m moving to London.
It was as easy as sending a resignation letter and booking a flight. I was as hard as free-falling in the sky, wondering if your parachute actually works.
Now that I’m in the middle of it, here is a few things that I keep in mind to reduce my anxiety and to make sure I don’t self-sabotage. I hope this will help you too whether you’re considering taking something that looks like a big decision for you.
1. It is ok to ask for help
I struggle a lot with the idea of ‘asking for help’. I remember my grandmother telling me that I shouldn’t ask for anything in life and that things I deserved would come to me. When I grew up, I thought that asking for help was a bad thing and that it meant I wasn’t tough enough.
’Strong people don’t ask for help’ I thought. I was wrong: the only people who don’t ask for help are the ones who are too afraid of being vulnerable.
